About the Photographer
My name is Maleigha Vietti and I'm a freshman at Blue Valley West High school. I'm currently taking photography 1 which is a film photography class. I have always been interested in photography, my dad is in advertising and does photography as a side job, so I have grown up knowing what goes on behind the camera. I grew up loving to take pictures and being able to share them with other people was so exciting. When I heard there was a photography class available at the school I was very excited plus I knew it was film so I thought is would be something new and fun to try. My favorite shots to take were all outdoor shots. I love being outside and all the beauty in nature is so fun to capture. Although taking the pictures was fun, what I really enjoyed was the cool things we got to do with our negatives after. These were processes such as the burned negative and hand coloring. I thought it was very interesting that we got to take a picture we have already created and turn it in to something even more creative and personalized. Although the fear of exposing the film and paper during shots and developing was very stressful, the class was still a lot of fun. A lot of the techniques that I learned throughout this class I carried with me when taking my shots and will continue to carry with me as I continue to take pictures. I was very happy with how the majority of my shots turned out but there were some things I could improve on in the future. Overall I'm very pleased with the outcomes of this class and I can't wait to continue taking more and more pictures!
